Red Roof Inn Memphis East

These folks are super friendly! (Unlike the other 2 close by) Service is great, rooms were great. The vibe was relaxed. There's a pond across the street that is open to fishing despite the outdated signage. It is right off the interstate and you have some great breakfast choices surrounding this motel. There are some drug users that frequent this nearby intersection, but harmless when avoided. That's in all major cities now; hard to be avoided. You do need $100 deposit in cash!! (I stayed several weeks/not sure about nightly requirements) Overall I enjoyed my stay here and will be back!

My friend stays there about 6 times a year and I visit him the room is always clean and a good size for the price. He is not an easy guy to keep happy but he always commends the hotel staff as being very polite and helpful. I will also add I have never seen bugs in there which is saying something since I've been there probably 30 times. You might see some people that look sketchy but most are just down on their luck I've never had a single issue in the parking lot.

Great value on the weekend and a super fast check in. We were able to use a debit card and they refunded our cash deposit immediately. Check in guy wasn't friendly at all but the check out was super pleasant. The door lock was busted in room 144 and the soda vending machine was broken which made me sad but overall a good stay. If you don't like dogs I'd pick somewhere else.

Yes, it's a little outdated. But, no bugs, awesome service at a low cost! Motel 6 had bed bugs,roaches, rats and stalked their customers. They were rude. This place has only a few cosmetic issues. I plan on staying here for my duration in Memphis

Clean and had a fridge and microwave. Stayed in 111 king bed with a small flat screen, but it did the job. The staff was nice and fast, and the coffee was hot at 06:45. The only problem was that not everything in the room, far as fixtures and outlets, didn't have really proper covers and properly surface mounted. But I had a hot shower just enough towels for one person. If you're staying here with more, I would suggest asking for extras because they are quite thin, so you'll run through about 2 a person. AC work properly inefficient.

We were actually very pleasantly surprised by our stay here. Our furry baby has health issues that require him to eat a special diet and because of that we now travel with him wherever we go. As such, we have stayed at many Red Roof Inns because we know we won't have to deal with any extra fees or small print when it comes to staying with our pet. Many times we are just passing through a town for a night and don't need anything fancy - just simple, clean, affordable accommodations. It's been hit or miss when it comes to staying at Red Roof Inns. Most of the ones we've stayed at (and there have been many) have broken furniture and dirty wood floors. Because of this, it's usually not my first choice and I was hesitant to book here after reading about the $100 deposit because it seemed shady. At the time we booked there just weren't a ton of pet-friendly last-minute options so we took a risk. This motel was hands-down the cleanest Red Roof Inn we have stayed. No broken furniture. No mysterious smudges on the wall. No strange moldy smell. It smelled fresh when we walked in, which honestly was a first for Red Roof. As for the deposit- we prepared ourselves and withdrew some cash nearby but they actually didn't ask for it. They told us that they typically don't ask for a cash deposit if you paid for your room by credit card on their website (not cash or debit or 3rd party site). Either way if a deposit is what it takes to have clean, kept rooms, then I don't think it's a bad trade-off. Besides the clean room the parking area was well-lit and well-kept and felt safe. Based on some of these reviews I was expecting a lot of noise, but actually it was very quiet. Overall, a very pleasant stay. If only more Red Roofs could be like this one.

The rooms needed to be updated, the carpet need a deep clean.

The hotel was great. Staff was friendly. When checking in make sure you bring cash. They want a $100 deposit. If you use your card you will have to wait a few days to get it back. There was no mention of a deposit on the booking site. Rooms are clean. We got a non smoking room but smelled smoke constantly. I think that was just because a lady a few doors down was outside smoking constantly. Parking was fine. Location was convenient to what we were doing. Overall, we felt pretty safe as it was just me and my younger daughter. King size bed was very comfortable. Wifi was great considering I forgot about a school assignment but I got it finished! Would recommend and would stay again!
